Free broadband deal launched

After being rumoured for weeks, CarphoneWarehouse has finally come good and released details of its free broadband offer. Is there such a thing as a free lunch after all? Well there is, if you consider £20.99 per month as free.
Users will be able to get an upto 8Mbps ADSL service providing they subscribe to the companies TalkTalk service - which costs £11.00 per month for telephone line rental, plus £9.99 for a "Calls Package" - a total of £20.99 per month. For users who do not want to take Carphone Warehouse's TalkTalk deal, they can still get the broadband service for £9.99 per month - which we have to admit, is pretty cheap.
Immediately available from 1000 exchanges across the UK (serving some 70% of the population), the service comes with a generous 40GB cap, but an 18 month contract.
The UK has been going (moderately) nuts over the past few days with news breaking out that Carphone Warehouse were about to "stun" its rivals with news of offering free broadband for its customers. Leaked news varied from source to source, including free broadband for a couple of months through to free broadband for 12 months. For many, whilst the news from Carphone Warehouse today will undoubtedly make some of the ISPs rivals sit up and react (although some of the ISPs CEO's may just go back to lounging at their poolside now), it may not be sufficient to tempt some to migrate both their broadband and phone service.
Those tempted, can find out more, check service availability and signup at the TalkTalk website.
