Both BT and Plusnet have today confirmed reports of an offer amounting to some £67m from BT to buy broadband ISP Plusnet.
Few real details are available that would interest the majority of our readers (ie, such has what will happen to existing Plusnet services), but some hints are given as to what might be coming Plusnet's way in the near future.
Aside from some financial incentives, the purchase will also enable Plusnet subscribers to gain access to BT's forthcoming BT's Vision service (Video on Demand).
BT has no current plans to abolish the Plusnet name citing the branding as 'distinguished'.
