Shock horror!! The Carphone Warehouse admitted this morning that it is still
struggling to broadband services to it's customers.
It also said that it's costs will be £10m to £15m higher than expected next
year due to the technical difficulties and consumer problems. To continue the
good news as only a third of it's users have been moved onto it's own network
from BT, it expects profits to be down as well as the company effectively lose
£5 for each customer a month.
They said that it has managed to unbundle 1,000 exchanges, which is two
months ahead of target. However, just 702,000 of its 2.27m broadband customers
are using unbundled connections, including 327,000 customers that it acquired by
buying AOL UK
last October.
"The delays we reported in migration earlier in the year mean we are
still a little behind our original business plan,"
"The current momentum of customer recruitment and migration gives us
confidence that we will make up the lost ground by the summer," |
| Charles Dunstone, chief executive |
