Hull disconnected from the UK
Posted by: eusty on Friday, August 24, 2007 - 08:41 PM
Broadband [General]

KCom, the recently re-branded Kingston Communications, has ran into a spot of bother as it has lost it's connection to BT.

The Hull is the only place in the UK which has an independent telco so a lack of connection to BT means that it is isolated from the rest of the UK serviced by BT.

"The KCOM Group and other Internet Service Providers are experiencing a general network issue that has been affecting Internet and Email services across the UK today."
"This fault has resulted in some customers experiencing intermittent Internet and Email service."
"Whilst this network fault is outside of our control we are working with network providers at the highest level as a matter of urgency to resolve this issue and return to a normal service."
KCom statement

Internet users in the Hull area will have to wait for BT to resolve the fault.
