Rumour has it that BT are to set to announce an increase in the number of exchanges running in the telco's Max DSL trial - the service aiming to start providing IPStream based 8Mbps download and 832Kbps or 448Kbps upstream to the country.
The extension continues to involve Home Max, Office Max and DataStream Max, although no list of exchanges has been published by BT. Currently the trials are underway only in key areas of London and Scotland.
Its estimated that a full product launch could be seen later this year.

BT is always slow and behind, a dying relic of the past. Bt is expensive.
In the future while others are offering 100Mbps Broadband, BT will be offering 8meg then 6 months later 12meg and in 2007 24meg, 2008 32meg etc. and finally in the year 2100 it will offer 100meg when others are offering 9 billion meg!
Useless slow BT dinosaur but must admit their Broadband is very reliable. Around one hour downtime in 5 years.
