BT is to halt it's SDSL rollout effective from September.
The reason given is that it's due to the low take up, because of the much higher cost as opposed to ADSL connections. BT is hoping it's recent SDSL price cuts will stimulate enough movent in the market to resume activating exchanges to SDSL, although it admits it won't be until at least 2006
Previously it had set the target of upgrading 800 local exchanges to SDSL and as at the present time had upgraded 729. It looks like BT is waiting for the market to mature before commiting to further expansion.
