The winners of the Internet Service Providers Association 2006 awards have been
revealed after the award bash last night at the London Marriott Hotel. The 8th
annual awards look at the performance of ISPs across a range of categories,
aiming to "celebrate innovation and best practice" in the internet industry.
- The award for Best Dial-up ISP - BISCit.
- Best Light Consumer Broadband - UKOnline.
- Best Heavy Consumer Broadband - Madasafish.
- Best Sumo Consumer Broadband - Be Unlimited.
- Best Portal - Tiscali.
- Best Consumer ISP - Wanadoo.
- The Internet Watch Foundation award for developments in online safety went
- Virtual Global Taskforce.
As always there are quite a few surprises in there, but as the awards are
judged by a panel rather than by 'real life' users this is to be expected.
