The Welsh e-minister Andrew Davies has given BT praise for it's recent announcement for expanding its demand registration scheme in an attempt have complete broadband coverage by 2005 broadband.

With BT announcing a further 243 trigger levels for exchanges in Wales, Mr Davies described the announcement as an 'important step' in the spread of broadband throughout Wales.

He added that the Assembly's £115 million Broadband Wales programme was also a way partnerships could be forged between communities, businesses and suppliers to ensure the spread of broadband.

"The Welsh Assembly government is delighted that BT has put trigger levels on new exchanges and that BT is working towards its commitment of ensuring that broadband is available throughout Wales as quickly as possible,"
