NTL is going to offer a range of premium content including music, games & videos for a fixed monthly fee.
While the fee is set at £3.99 it offers a substantial saving over obtaining the content individually. Fifteen content providers include Encyclopaedia Britannica (usually £4.99), music via Vidzone (usually £4.99) and games site Freeloader (usually £7.99) so offering a saving of nearly £14.
Also included is content of The Tweenies, MTV, Music Choice and others.
According to NTL Home managing director Aizad Hussain most broadband content is too expensive. "There is no single proposition at the right price. With Broadband Plus we're changing that,"
The main problem is that all of this content has be within NTL's much maligned 1Gb per day download restriction. This doesn't to seem have hurt NTL much, as it touts itself as the biggest broadband provider with 33.2% share of the market in September (according to their own figures).
