Broadband [General]

Following on from our 'Brits are clueless' story new research from uswitch.com reinforces our standing as a technological nation...

While 39% of people don't know what IPTV is some more common terms like VoIP confuse 34% of those surveyed. It's not all bad news, if you are an ISP that is, as 74% of people didn't know what a MAC code is.

There were some differences too, WiFi for example was correctly identified by 75% of Londoners while only 34% of those who live in the Midlands knew what it was, it isn't as some thought a stereo system.
And surprisingly those in the over 50s have a greater knowledge of new technologies that those in the 18-29 group.

The biggest problem was with podcast with only 30% knowing what it was, with some people thinking it is a UK fishing competition!!
