Euro1Net is possibly the latest
cut price ISP to have gone to the wall.
BTWholesale have stopped providing IPStream connections to Euro1Net
customers, with the reason being an "unspecified issue" although it's 99%
certain to involve money not paid to BT.
Users trying to browse are being forwarded to a BT holding page with the
following announcement.
Please note that this is not a fault, your broadband service has
been re-directed to this webpage by BT Wholesale and you will not be
able to navigate your web service beyond this page.
Your current broadband service provider is Advanced Data Services
(Europe) Limited (trading as Euro1Net). Advanced Data Services
(Europe) Limited (trading as Euro1Net) delivers your service via a
BT Wholesale product called IPstream.
BT Wholesale has terminated the IPstream contract provided to
Advanced Data Services (Europe) Limited (trading as Euro1Net), due
to the non-payment of invoices. As a consequence we have made
arrangements to cease your broadband service. This should be
completed by Tuesday 5th September 2006, at which time you will be
able to order a new service from another Broadband Service Provider
of your choice.
You will not be able to order a new broadband service until the
cease order on your current service has completed.
If you wish to discuss this matter further or to make a complaint
about the loss of service you are experiencing, please contact your
Service Provider. You may of course contact Ofcom should you require
further advice. Please do not contact BT Wholesale as we will not be
able to assist you further. BT Wholesale does sympathise with the
situation that you find yourself in but this is a matter between you
and the Service Provider who was supplying your broadband service.

Euro1Net has issued a statement on its service status page, although
users will have to connect via dial-up to view it. In part it denies the ISP has
liquidated but says "We are not going out of business; we just have an issue
with one particular supplier." which when it's BT means you have big problems.
One solution put forward by Euro1Net is a migration to one of it's other
services, although it seems from the BT statement that the marker will still be
on the line, so a cease would be needed to obtain another ADSL connection.
Many users are unhappy as they have paid for 12 months broadband in advance,
although this highlights the problem of 'too good to be true' offers, they
usually are.
EDIT: Sources say that Bulk ceases were placed at 1pm this afternoon on all 5,500 circuits of Euro1Net. Users will be able to apply for a new broadband service on or after the 5th of September.
EDIT pt2: Looks like Euro1Net are no more
