New statistics for internet usage have been The Office of National Statistics' and unsurprisingly broadband use has increased to an all-time high of 20% in October.

Broadband is making big inroads into the once dominant dial-up market. While overall internet connectivity grew by 5.6% over the previous year, dial-up access actually fell by 6.8%.

This compares with a staggering 125% increase in broadband connections for the same time period.
