Bulldog Communications have scooped the Best Broadband Consumer award at the Internet Industry Awards, held last night in London compared by Simon Amstell.
Bulldog were presented with the award due to the companies "aggressive promotion of an innovative range of packages". In addition ISPA judges felt that "The company had a big impact on the ISP sector in 2003. Bulldog was seen as pushing back the barriers in the consumer broadband market to the benefit of their customers".
Other notable winners included Best Business Broadband ISP being awarded to Easynet, for the companies effort in Local Loop Unbundling and "generous" bandwidth, and Freeserve walking away with the award for Best National Consumer ISP, beating the stiff competition from the likes of NDO & Tiscali, the latter incidently winning Best Metered ISP.
The night was not without humour however, with initially the Best National Consumer ISP winner being announced as Easynet before Freeserve were declared the actual winners.
Attendees were also treated to fun being made at Internet Villan winners Verisign for their 'domain system hijacking' scandal last year, with a burglar swiping items from the tables of the attendees.
All in all a good night !
