BTYahoo in internal 1 Mbit trial.

After some speculation if BTYahoo (formally BTOpenworld) will be participating in the recently announced Home 1000 trial, UK-Bug today received notification that BTYahoo will be running an internal trial only.
The internal trial (for BTYahoo employees only) will run from early October until December 2003.
No details for an external trial have been put into place, but details released to UK-Bug quote that any external trial will consist of both new and existing subscribers. The trial size is expected to be very small however - possibly less than 20 - 30 trialists.
The stinger to this story ? According the documentation received by UK-BugPricing for the BTYahoo 1Mbit offering "... will be significantly higher than the current £29.99" (in reference to BTYahoo's Home 500 offering). How much "significant" equals in terms of £'s remains to be seen.
BTYahoo / Openworld have come under heavy criticism in the past for their high subscription rate. A reduction in the Home 500 product in conjunction with a reasonably priced Home 1000 offering was called for by many existing subscribers.
