Troubled Gio Internet finally succumbs
Posted by: AndyJenkins on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 07:00 AM
ISP's [General]

Gio Internet has this week confirmed that it will no longer be taking new customers, and that existing customers will be supported until their current billing period. After this, it appears, that Gio Internet (in its present guise at least), will be no more.

Regular visitors to UK-Bug will be all too familiar with the plight of Gio Internet which kicked off back in 2004. Many previous Gio Internet customers have already benefited from free migration offers off other ISPs offered to those affected by the issues at Gio.

Over the next few days we can probably exist a number of ISPs to follow suite, but the first to hit our mailbox is from BlueLeaf Internet.

"It’s always difficult when you encounter problems with your Internet Service and for many Gio Internet users it will be important to switch to a company that they can trust. BlueLeaf prides it’s self on it’s exceptional customer service and we welcome the chance to show all new customers, whether they have come from another ISP or are new to the Internet, our commitment to making their Internet experience and pleasurable one."
Andy Smart, BlueLeaf Internet’s Operations Director

BlueLeaf offer a range of ADSL speeds from 150Kbps priced at £16.64 (inc VAT) through to £29.99 for 1Mbps. More info on the Blueleaf homepage here.
