BROADBAND Wales has announced the creation of eight posts which will help to develop the internet usage in Wales.
Representatives are to be hired as part of the Welsh Assembly's 'Broadband Wales' Unit. The new posts will be at Treforest, Swansea, Newtown and St Asaph to spread throughout the country with the aim of promoting the technology.
The two-year fixed appointments are part of the Assembly's remit to bring broadband communication to every home and business in Wales.
The man in charge , Michael Eaton, aims to make the internet as accessible as text messaging and mobile phones.
"People did not imagine they would take on this technology but they have. So far, in my opinion, there is a pent-up demand for broadband in places that it cannot be had yet and where it is available you are still looking at the need to explain to people why they might need it."
The positions, advertised today, are for eight representatives with a salary ranging from £20,417, to £26,940.
