It's that time of year again so The Internet Services Providers' Association
(ISPA) has launched this years' search for the internet industry’s
champion performers with it's 8th annual awards.
The 2006 ISPAs will be made up of two divisions; the ISP division and the
Special Awards division, it features six broadband categories and this year
introduces three new award categories:-
- Best Dial-Up
- Best Uncontended Service
- Best Streaming Service.
The participants in the ISP division will be tested and monitored on criteria
including connection time, connection speed, upload and download speed, and DNS
response. An independent judging panel of industry experts will then select the winners based on entrants’ value added services such as
levels of customer support, the presence of service restrictions and online
safety features.
| “The ISPAs celebrate outstanding performance and service from
ISPs across the Internet industry. It is a superb opportunity for
consumers to see which services perform best under the scrutiny of
the independent monitoring and judging process.” |
| Jessica Hendrie-Liao, Chair of the ISPA Council |
The ISPA Council will select the shortlists and winners of the Internet Hero
and Internet Villain categories again this year, but with recent events between
some ISP's the villain could be a close run event!
The competition closes on the 16th September with the winners (a
losers) being announced at the awards ceremony and gala dinner will be held in
London on 23rd February 2006.
