PlusNet have today officially launched their PlusTalk service available exclusively for its customers.
PlusNets foray into the VoIP market already seen a price reduction even before launch according to some sources in order to appear realistically competitive. Available in 3 flavours suited towards usage, PlusNet subscribers can elect for a Pay As You Go package, or what we think will be the more popular choices of either free weekend and evening calls under £3 per month, or free calls anytime, for £4.99 per month.

Earlier this week we detailed how prices that users pay both for their broadband access and VoIP services look set to come down, as rivals compete amongst each other to offer the better deal. Already we've seen heard that BT's offering, Communicator should see pricing drop by 50% for the coming months.

Looks interesting .. shame I'm not with Plusnet. Thinking about that .. why are Plusnet restricting this service to their own customers ? is this a loss leader to gain subscribers to their more profitable broadband service maybe ?
