I have bought this plug (the pic in at top right) if you search for CD61R at :-

and i am wanting to do this :-

Can somebody tell me if i have conmpletely the wrong plug or if the same can be done with this particular plug.

Thanks for the reply but..
The plug i bought was the cd58 (it is the big size) rather than the smaller cd61r (joystick port size) i think i explained it a little confusing in my first post.Is this plug i have bought any good for the job?

Sorry no, you need the CD61R plug or an equivalent. Sad
