Searching For ISPs That Pack A Punch
Launch of The 2005 ISPAs - The UK Internet Industry Awards
The Internet Services Providers Association (ISPA UK) in association with Purple Sun has launched this years' search for the champions of the Internet industry.
The ISPAs are THE UK Internet Industry Awards.
The Mirror described The 2003 ISPAs as ?The Internet event of the year?, and The Times described The 2004 ISPAs as ?The awards that could have the most direct bearing on your life?.
The 2005 ISPAs will build on this success with a number of changes including the introduction of eight new award categories. The new categories include Best Data Centre, Best Portal and six Broadband categories.
Purple Sun has been commissioned for the second year running, to analyse, monitor and test entrants in the ISP Division on a criteria including connection time, connection speed , upload and download speed, and DNS time. Entrants in the Hosting award will be given a file they will place on their hosting server, which will be periodically downloaded to measure availability and non-cached download speed. The performance testing and service monitoring period has been more than tripled for The 2005 ISPAs .
The Suppliers Division will be assessed by a focus group from representatives of the ISPA membership. This focus group will select the shortlists and eventual winners in each category.
For your chance to win?
Entrance to the ISP Division will open on 14th September 2004. Potential entrants will have two weeks to enter and to register with Purple Sun.
The closing date for the Supplier Division and for the ISP Division entrants supporting information will be the 30th November 2004.
For the first year, entrants to the ISP division have been invited to attend pre-registration briefing meetings to be hosted by the Press Association on the 3rd and 13th September 2004. Attendees will be instructed on entry requirements and how each category's assessment process will work. Entrants will also receive The 2005 ISPAs entry pack and learn how to better their chances of performing well in the assessment. Further information about the pre-registration briefing meetings can be found online at www.ispaawards.org.uk .
To enter the awards, companies should select the category they wish to enter, fill out the supporting information forms and arrange testing by Purple Sun if applicable. Entry criteria and further information about the Awards can be found online at www.ispaawards.org.uk .
The Event
The ISPAs are the premiere event for the Internet industry. Board level decision makers and government representatives will be in attendance to toast the achievements of the past year.
ISPA welcomes ISPs, whether they are members or not, to enter and battle it out for the coveted gongs.
The awards ceremony and gala dinner will be held in London in February 2005.
Sponsorship and entry enquiries should be directed to the ISPA Press Office.
