Makes me happy as that means there is 158 people who have contributed to the forum.
Must just be me I suppose. . .

Fact of life Des!!
I've no idea why people register and then don't post..actually you can post without registering....

Brings me onto a nice point about posting...
Some of the posts by "guests" are to say the least not very constructive, maybe it is the fact they can just hit submit without registering.
Perhaps if they had to register before posting they may put a little more thought into it?
P.S. bit of a late reply but some of the posts were getting to me a little today. |

I've been considering introducing reg'ed only posting.
One problem with a 'new'forum is getting people using it - hence we relaxed the registration requirement .. with careful monitoring (spam, language etc etc) it kinda worked.
Maybe its time to re-evaluate this. |

No, i don't think so.. If the post on phpbb.com are anything to go by, most people don't even bother to read the "Read Me First Before Posting"! After 8k+ post I have yet to see a change either!

Never to late to post . .
I can under stand the dilemma between gaining active users and the registration, only time and regular hard work eventually pay off on it. And maybe having "an edge"...

This has probably been considered, but have you thought about merging the members of the other BB support forum into this one?
Sending out an email to all members explaining the change and placing a redirect on the domain?
It would make sense as it is looking very dated?
Even transferring all the posts across?
I sure you don't have any plans for the next few weeks anyway? |

Hi,
Ahhh. . . That old chestnut. . .
If only it were so easy...
Ignoring the password issues and the fact that this forum is phpBB based, there is a convertion from Snitz to phpBB2.
BUT we already have members and posts here which would make extensive DB editing a positive requirement...
But if there is some spare time floating about . .
Des. . .
PS another smilie to add to the collection! |
