Just tried to edit one of my posts only to find I can't. I thought this was a pretty standard feature for forums these days 
Please switch edits on, I can at least correct my spellings then  |

You should be able to edit your posts, do you get an error when you try it?
It's the buttom marked 'Edit' BTW  |
