Post subject: BT Managed Router

I have a BT managed router and when I put its IP address in to my browser I get a blue screen saying Connect Disconnect Change Login and reboot, I am try to access the web interface so that I can set-up some port forwarding does anyone know why I am not getting the web interface ???
My software version is - v5.3.181 |

It's because it has BT fimware on it, it's a crippled version.
If it's a managed router then why not ring BT and askethem to do it? They can access the router remotely and reconfigure it. |

| Apparently even thought it says full managed that means they only support it when it goes down and if we change the config and it goes down they will not support us. |

Hi,
As port forwarding is well within the bounds of the routers capabilities, have you asked BT to set up your port forwarding for you.
They can access the router and set up the rules required!
As they manage the service for you they should also be able to do this for you..
If not, then perhaps you should be asking why you have a managed service, which I am sure you pay extra for, and whether that additional service is worth it...

BT won't put port forwarding on the router to a specific IP within the LAN.
Your only options are to upgrade to multiple static IP's and stick your device on that or get your own router. |
