I’m experiencing trouble accessing msn messenger via Talk Talk Broadband
I’m using a wireless network via an SMC Barricade ADSL Router. On start-up msn messenger fails to connect, at first this was happening on only about every 10 start-ups, now it fails every time! I’m also running Norton AVS & Firewall
My work-arounds are:
1. Login to SMC website (http://192.168.2.1/) and confirm (make no changes, just confirm) my settings. At first this normally fixed the problem, but increasingly I have to repeat this action, sometimes up to 10 times!
or
2. Use the Repair function of the Wireless Network Connection.
or
3. Turn the Router’s power off and then on again – not particularly convenient as the router is located in another room and somewhat defeats the purpose of a wireless network.
4. Use the log-on facility on the MSN home page – this only works about 1 in every 20 attemps
5. Cross all my fingers and legs and pray!
As the problem persist it is taking more and more attempts to connect.

Any Ideas?????? Frustrated from Woodford Green.

Hi MDM,

Did you get a resolution, I'm having the same issue, funny tho I only get this on a laptop running XP, I have another running Vista and that works ok, even with the same MSN account !!

In the process of switching from BT to TalkTalk, both laptops work ok with BT, hope I'm not gonna regret switching Sad

Thanks
Chris.
