Greetings!
Here is an interesting problem I am having with my WAG54GX2 modem/wireless access point/router. It connects to my ADSL broadband provider fine. I have it wired to my home pc via a lan cable and a lan port and this works fine too, I can browse the internet.
Now, when I try and connect a to the wireless internet point with a laptop, the laptop 'sees' the network, attempts to connect, but after a while, pops up an 'unable to connect' message.
However, if I turn the pc off, the laptop connects via the wireless access point with no problems at all. Indeed, I've managed to connect two laptops and my mini mac to the same wireless access point, all at the same time.
Now, the minute I turn on my PC which you will remember has a wired lan connection to the access point, all the wireless connections get droped and can no longer re connect.
My PC is running XP with Norton 2005 internet security. Could this be a firewall issue? I disabled all the firewalls but it still didnt work. Has anyone else has this issue? Any answers greatly appreciated!
I noted this issue looks similar to the problem that the chap with the Server 2003, BT Broadband (Voyager 100) and Internet Sharing, except I have a router and he doesnt... |
