Can anybody advise what would be considered the normal loss of ADSL connection rate on a BT domestic line.
When fault occurs Phone line still works as normal but router keeps trying to make a broadband connection.
I have been suffering this intermitten connection for the last three weeks and have done everything that BT help desk have advised. They have carried out line tests and now say that the loss of ISP connection is quite normal....never happened this much in the past however.
Have replaced filters and connected direct into test socket in Master socket, router is within 1 meter of master socket and no other devices, apart from normal phone, are connected to the line.
Below are the line parameters when a connection is made.....
DSL Connection Details
DSL Line (Wire Pair): Line 1 (inner pair)
Protocol: G.DMT
Downstream Rate: 4544 kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 kbps
Channel: Interleaved
Current Noise Margin: 9.0 dB (Downstream), 5.0 db (Upstream)
Current Attenuation: 52.0 dB (Downstream), 31.0 db (Upstream)
Current Output Power: 19.4 dB (Downstream), 11.9 db (Upstream)
DSLAM Vendor Information: Country: {0x0F} Vendor: {ALCB} Specific: {0x00}
PVC Info: 0/38

I wish I had stats like that...they look fine.

Have you tried a different router just to rule out any hardware problems your end? Also is the disconnection random, it could be caused by interference from some other device.
