Hello all.
An especially warm hello to the Site Admin . . . 
I have managed to get my own forum up and running, and done most of the set-up for it.
There are a couple of aspects of it I am less than happy about . . Things that I like on the BUG . . 
Here, if you click on either the member list of a user, you are promted to log in. .. The version of phpBB I used allows "guests" to view both the complete member list AND member profiles. This I do not want.
However I can't code to save my life. I have tried a coupe of "Mods" that I was pointed at, but they did not cover this senario . . .
Any one with a clue about this????
(I have noticed that if you click on "Groups" here in "the BUG" no log in but "No Groups" . . .

Got me beat Des!! I've looked at the forum options but can't find anyway to stop the guests viewing the memberlist.
It could be you are using v2.0.6 and we are still on v1.2 (come on Andy... ) or it's been coded into it, and as my PHP knowledge is slightly more than the average house spider......
We haven't any groups enabled here, really there isn't too much need of them unless the forum starts to get pretty big!!! |

Hi Steve 
Yes I have installed phpBB2 v 2.0.6, while UK-BUG is using a whole new Mod "Post Nuke" based on the older phpBB.
My forum is going to be weee. Not many members, primarily for those who need to get a non urgent message to me . . It is going to have to be re installed, I think, but in the mean time I have the chance to muck about and get things right!
What I know about coding could fit onto a pin point - and leave room! ! ! Heavens - leave out a semi-colon and your in trouble! Is there a coding tool I can use at all?
Ahhh . . So Andy is "The Expert" on this Hello Andy (Big Cheesy Grin!)

Well, looks like I found my answer
I went and had a peek around phpBBhacks and found "1101" to disable guest or anon access ! ! Very useful site too . . .
And it WORKS ! ! ! (Have a PEEP) Just added the bits and pieces with EditPlus2 and uploaded! ! ! Junior hacker status coming up. . .  |
