A day without the internet?

This Sunday is the second annual 'International
Internet-Free Day', where people are encouraged to stay offline and get
in touch with the 'real world'. And the strangest thing about the Global
Ideas Bank idea is it's
supported by an ISP, Bulldog!
| "We want people to make the most of their lives. The internet
should be adding to our lives, not taking away from it. To mark
'International Internet-Free day', we're encouraging net users to
shut down their PC and spend the time away with friends and family." |
| David Fergusonn, marketing director, Bulldog |
So why do we need an International
Internet-Free Day?
Global Ideas Bank say the world needs the day for several reasons, including;
- Because it's all too easy to miss out on face-to-face interaction with your
family, friends and neighbours.
- Because blogging doesn't provide your daily vitamins and minerals.
- Because you've got RSI coming on in your mouse arm.
- Because the real world is a wonderful place.
So there you have it, but somehow we think Sunday won't be that quiet....
