Following on from our 'Brits
are clueless' story new research from uswitch.com reinforces our standing as
a technological nation...
While 39% of people don't know what IPTV is some more common terms like VoIP
confuse 34% of those surveyed. It's not all bad news, if you are an ISP that is,
as 74% of people didn't know what a MAC code is.
There were some differences too, WiFi for example was correctly identified by
75% of Londoners while only 34% of those who live in the Midlands knew what it
was, it isn't as some thought a stereo system.
And surprisingly those in the over 50s have a greater knowledge of new
technologies that those in the 18-29 group.
The biggest problem was with podcast with only 30% knowing what it was, with
some people thinking it is a UK fishing competition!!
