UK small businesses are set to miss out on their share of the £5bn online
Christmas spending because they are unable to cope with the massive surges in
website traffic warns web hosting company
Fasthosts.
Website traffic increases by an average of 200 percent over the Christmas
period with customers spending an average of £208 each over the 10 week run-up
to Christmas.
Although Fasthosts mention this to raise awareness of their hosting packages,
internet users should be aware that this increase in traffic may affect their
browsing speeds as some sites struggle to cope with the extra demand.
