PlusNet have become one of the first ISPs to offer both support for a
language other than English.
The Sheffield based provider has a Polish a forum, a portal at
www.plus.net/pl/ and also a dedicated
helpline manned by native speakers who can help with technical and billing
enquires.
A UK newspaper has recently reported that migrants are some of the most
advanced users of communications technologies, taking advantage of cheap and
free calls over the internet services as well as webcams to keep in contact with
family back home.
"With the Polish community in the UK now numbering more than
750,000 people - two per cent of the global Polish population - we’re
addressing their needs in a way that makes sense for them."
"All of
our customers receive the same service and prices, so we’re simply
tailoring our message for a different community. Subject to demand, we’d
like to see further languages coming online in the future." |

Now all some ISPs need to do is introduce a helpline manned by native English
speakers....
