BT have announced some new hotspots available to BT Openzone.
As from the spring it will be available at 13 major rail stations, but
unfortunately most of these fall within the capital. The locations that will
be
enabled are at Euston, Liverpool Street, Waterloo, Victoria, Fenchurch
Street,
Paddington, Cannon Street and Charing Cross. Stations outside of London that
will get wireless access are at Birmingham New Street, Leeds City,
Manchester
Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street.
As a bonus you will be able to surf for free as BT have a national week
of
free wireless broadband, which starts on 26 January. You will need to
register
with BT Openzone between 26 January and 1 February to qualify to
unlimited
access for one week.
| "Railway stations have always been a key target for BT
Openzone and we are delighted to announce this rollout today. BT now has
an
unrivalled network of hotspots at all the premium travel locations -
whether
you take planes, trains or automobiles.
"This expansion forms part of our strategy of bringing increasing
numbers of
hotspots to key locations. You can now realistically leave your Hilton
hotel, call into McDonald's for a coffee and catch your train and all
major
stops on your journey will have a BT Openzone access point." |

BT claims that by the end of March its network of BT Openzone access
points
will total more than 2,200 - including airports, McDonald's restaurants,
Hilton
hotels and now railway stations. But has anyone actually noticed any of
them.....
