BTWholesale's "Behind You"

Clearly, BT are in already in the spirit this year in preparation for the Christmas panto season, with a recently launched website, Behind-you. All together now ... "They're behind you !!!". UKIF might disagree there !
Aimed at both the business and home markets, the site boasts its aim as "to separate the facts from the fantasy and blow away the technical jargon".
The site also has a "Myths & Facts" section - which the wholesaler hopes to dispell many a urban myth such as "Hardly anyone can actually get broadband, even if they want it" & "I live too far away from my exchange to get broadband".

Why are BT Wholesale bothering? Those of us who have tried broadband, in some cases with more than one ISP know just how unreliable, subject to daily & multiple outages it is.
Why don't BT just give up, stop enabling exchanges & in fact admit defeat. Perhaps even start closing down exchanges that have already been enabled. (NTL users in Southampton by NTL's own admission have been without BB since 30th April so perhaps NTL should abandon their recently announced plans on LLU ADSL if as it appears they cannot run their existing cable BB network reliably.) My current advice to potential new users is stay away from BB & in fact stay away from the Internet as no place for novices with all the current virus, trojan, worm attacks, spyware, premium rate diallers, browser hijackers, etc.
