BTGroup will not be split

A divorce of BTWholesale & BT Retail, the two main companies within the BT Group, will no longer be sought by the industry's regulatory body, if a report in the Telegraph over the weekend holds any merit.
The news that OFCOM is no longer to seek separation of the two businesses is expected to come mid October following a consultation of the industry - the biggest in 13 years. Some of the pressure for the split was bourne from calls stating that BTs Retail divisions (BTYahoo Broadband, BTOpenworld etc) have an unfair advantage when dealing with the incumbent's Wholesale division.
One (anonymous) rival of BT's is quoted as saying "No one major is really calling for a complete break-up any more."
