Google to offer VoIP calls?

The Grapevine

Rumours are floating that the ever invasive Google is looking to start offering a VoIP service.

It is searching for a "strategic negotiator" to help the company deal with telecoms companies to put together "a global backbone network" which could provide the VoIP phone calls to broadband users.
Industry observers reckon that through VoIP Google would also be able to add new functions such as click to dial - where an advertiser's webpage has a special button that connects an internet phone straight to a call centre.

Google haven't announced it's intentions as of yet, it was unavailable for comment, but it's current developments all stem around giving customers the 'total advertising package' and this fit's nicely into this category.
