PCchecker.co.uk1. Does your superfast internet connection feel like it is being limited by your ancient computer? If so then you might be thinking of purchasing a new computer but how do you start looking for something that matches your needs and not some pushy in store salesperson’s trying to meet this month’s sales targets?
2. Are you ready to upgrade your old computer but not sure how to go about buying a replacement and what to look for? If so then a new web site called PC Checker could be for you.
3. If you have ever bought a new computer, unless you are quite tech savvy you probably found the whole experience confusing and stressful to say the least. With endless specifications and jargon all seemingly there to confuse you, you probably felt afterwards you could have spent less and not missed the super graphics card which you only use to play solitaire on! Well…
4. Are you looking for a basic computer that gets you on the internet, allows you to do some word processing and that’s all? What about a computer that will allow you to edit the odd video, create DVDs and cds quickly or play the odd modern game? Or how about a computer that will give you bragging rights down the pub as it has the latest, fastest processor and graphics card? No matter what you are looking for in your next laptop or desktop computer a new site aims to help you find something that meets your needs.
Â
One of our members recently came across www.PCchecker.co.uk and recommended the site as it helped him find a basic desktop computer that didn’t have features that he had no use for. After having a look at the site ourselves we wanted to pass on the recommendation and give the site a brief review:
The site groups both laptop and desktop computers into Basic, Entertainment and Ultimate categories so you can see at a glance which packages suit your needs - whether that be an über computer suitable for high resolution gaming & image editing, costing over ₤1500 or a basic computer simply for internet usage at home for under ₤300.
Also in order to help those who aren’t sure about their Memory from their Megabytes or their GHz from their Graphics Cards each computer is given a unique PC Checker Score. This score rates the important elements of the computer so you can see exactly what you are getting for your money.
Currently the site compares prices from Apple, Comet, Currys, Dell, Play, Dixons, Mesh and PC World and was created to simplify the minefield that is buying a new home computer package. Added: Monday, February 18, 2008 Reviewer: eustyScore: Related web link: PCcheckerhits: 59 Language: eng
