Zen Internet has revealed its plans to move to a new HQ building early in
2008, and with it the possibility of adding more staff to it's growing numbers.
The ISP had planned to move to larger premises in 2010, but due to rapid
growth they have been forced to rethink the timetable as Zen staff are now spilt
between three sites. The move will being all of Zen's current 260 staff
under one roof, and provide an additional 150,000 sq ft of high quality
office space.
It's demonstrating its commitment to remain in Rochdale, the town where it
was founded, and is hopeful that a grant will be awarded to enable the move to
Kingsway Business Park to go ahead.
"As Zen has grown, we have been forced to split our staff
between three different buildings. This has been due to the lack of
quality office space of a suitable size in the local area. We have
now reached capacity at all three sites and have an immediate need
for additional space to expand our business."
"The opportunity for us to buy Holiday House, and expand to over
1000 staff in one location, has come at a perfect time. The move
would mark the beginning of a new era of success for Zen, securing
the long-term future of our business and bringing prosperity to the
local area. I very much hope we are able to realise this fantastic
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity." |

Zen Internet gained a fourth PC Pro Award for Best Broadband ISP at the
Science Museum in London last night.
The awards are compiled from readers of PC Pro magazine who voted on their
broadband experiences from the UK's ISPs.
"It's now four years in a row for one of the industry's most
respected ISPs. Near-flawless customer service and reliability keep Zen
at the top."
"I am absolutely delighted that we have been voted the Best Broadband
ISP for the fourth year running. Winning this award is a real testament
to the fantastic job done by all our staff – it is their adoption of our
principle of continual improvement that has been the key to us winning
the award."
"Pursuit of our company mission requires us to deliver a better service
to our customers today than we did yesterday, and to plan to deliver an
even better service tomorrow. This approach will remain the bedrock on
which Zen is built." |

With all the talk of a general election, Zen Internet may have some inside
information on the subject. The ISP covered the Internet connectivity for some of the leading
newspaper groups present at the recent political party conferences. For the
second year running, Express Newspapers and Telegraph Media Group used Zen to
set up broadband access tp remote offices for their political teams.
| "The short term contact, quality of service and excellent
account handling we experienced from Zen last year was continued at
the conferences this time. We would certainly recommend the Zen
broadband service for events." |

No not the ISP itself! but Zen Internet are supporting local Rochdale twins, Ruth and Lucy Walczak
in their bid to be part of an Olympic rowing team.
The girls needed funds to buy a new boat for training, and following the
sponsorship from the Rochdale based company they have decided to name the boat
Zen.
The twins, who are based at Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club, are part of the under
23 GB squad and have won multiple gold medals from the World Junior Championship
2006 for Lucy and the European Championship for Ruth that same year.
| "Ruth and Lucy have a tremendous challenge ahead of them to make the
Olympic rowing team and then hopefully to bring home an Olympic gold
medal. I'm very happy that we have been able to help them in their
quest." |

Zen Internet today have announced the launch of Zen Broadband Voice, a VoIP
sevice for Zen broadband customers.
The package includes 1000 minutes of calls to UK landlines for £4.99 (inc
VAT) per month, whilst calls to other Zen Broadband Voice users and calls to Zen
Internet are free of charge.
To use the service, customers must have a Zen Broadband account and are
advised to use a softphone or Zen’s recommended hardware. As an introductory
offer a Speedtouch 780WL wireless router with integrated analogue telephone
adaptor is available at a discounted rate.
"The Voice service is an excellent add-on to our broadband
packages. We have had many queries on whether we would be
introducing a residential/SoHo phone service, so we are delighted to
be able to introduce Zen Broadband Voice. We are always looking for
ways to improve our product range, and customer feedback is vital to
allow us to do this."
"As with our broadband range, there is a minimum contract length of
one month, so customers can sign up with zero risk and no
obligation. Given that the call charges are so low, we are very
hopeful that customers will use the service and save money on their
phone bill." |

Zen have launched IP VPN which offers a secure, reliable way for
organisations looking to connect offices, remote workers and partners.
Customers can access a dedicated IP VPN using Zen’s services including ADSL
broadband, SDSL or ZenDirect leased circuits. As these are private circuits they
offer advanced protection from external threats as they cannot be directly
reached from the public Internet. Internet access to the IP VPN can also be
included and is secured by a Managed Fortigate UTM firewall.
| "Implementing a Zen IP VPN solution will deliver security,
performance and reliability benefits whilst providing a future-proof
platform for converging voice and data networks. Our team of experienced
network engineers can design and implement robust IP networks that
deliver substantial productivity benefits whilst reducing the burden of
complex network planning and management." |

Zen Internet have been stressing their commitment to always "focus on
reliability and excellent service levels."
This comes after Zen being commended by a The Sunday Times report into ISP
satisfaction levels, which saw Zen come out top with 18/20 while TalkTalk
trailed in with 9/20. This follows it's most award as being the PC Pro Award for
Best Broadband ISP 2006, the third time in a row the company had been awarded
this.
| "A cheaper deal will not always work out financially beneficial
to a business. They have to consider the often costly implications
of an unreliable connection, the type of customer service that they
will receive and high rate support lines. Our customers find it
reassuring that from their very first contact with Zen they are
dealing with dedicated and knowledgeable staff who have the skills
to deliver the service which is fundamental to our business model.
It is this consistent approach to service that our customers value
over the low cost deals they may see. Zen has promoted this in the
past and interestingly we have recently had other ISPs have their
customers call us when they have been unable to resolve their own
customers' issues!" |
| Iain Johnstone, Sales and Communications Manager, Zen

being in the spotlight for poor customer service.

Zen Internet will be providing broadband connections for the Maplins UK
Snooker Championship at the Barbican Centre in York which runs from the 4th
December until the final on 17th December.
The two Office broadband connections provided by Zen are required for the
purposes of offering a high speed internet connection to the media personnel
situated in the media centre, allowing them to release their event coverage
articles with the minimal delay and for the provision of a real-time livescores
feed to the World Snooker website. In addition the connections offer the
tournament staff a link to their head office for email and data connectivity.
| "I have chosen Zen as our broadband provider for this event
because I have been extremely satisfied with the service they have
already provided for events in the past and wanted to make sure that
for such a major event as the Maplins UK Championship, I had on
board a company I could rely on." |
