Onyx Internet are reducing their Broadband prices. As of today they will be offering a 2MB Business (20:1 contention) Broadband for £75 per month, a saving customers £300 per year on their previous price.

"These latest price cuts present a real opportunity for companies to get a business-class Internet service at a fantastic price. Our solutions allow businesses to get the most out of their Internet connections so they can work as cost-effectively as possible."
Neil Stephenson, Sales and Marketing Director Onyx Internet

Business ISP Onyx Internet have announced some significant price reductions on its SDSL offerings, clearly as a result of BT's recent wholesale price drop. The move sees 2MB SDSL available from the ISP from £150 per month, a saving of £2,640 a year on previous prices.

Product Symetrical speed Cost
Business SDSL Silver 512Kbps £115
Business SDSL Gold 1Mbps £130
Business SDSL Platinum 2Mbps £150

Onyx are also offering their "Managed" variant of the above, which sees the ISP supply, configure and manage an SDSL router, for an extra £25 (+ VAT) per month on top of the above prices. Setup charges are £500 +VAT non-managed and £600 +VAT for the managed option.

Last week saw BT announce its cessation of its SDSL services to new exchanges due to poor acceptance - which is easy to understand given the price differential that ADSL affords compared with SDSL. However for those where high speed transmission in both up and downstreams is critical, SDSL clearly is the cost effective option given the lowly upstream speeds that are associated with an asynchronous connection.

Onyx

We rumoured a few weeks ago that Easynet were preparing to rival BT by allowing other companies to purchase it's LLUStream product.

Now they have announced the first ISP to sign up with them, business ISP Onyx Internet. Onyx will use LLUStream to roll out differentiated high-bandwidth services to its customers in the North East of England and Scotland.

"LLUStream means that ISPs, carriers and system integrators can finally offer their customers innovative LLU services provided by someone other than BT. It gives organisations access to a unique portfolio of great value, incredibly fast connectivity speeds and stringent SLAs.
Onyx Internet and its customers will benefit enormously from these products, driving them towards true business transformation."
Justin Fielder, Business Development Director of Easynet Group

Hopefully this is just the beginning, and more ISP's will follow.
