Easynet has been suffering from intermittent email problems for the
last nine days or so and has still not solved the issue.
According to Easynet they are sorry for the delays and are trying to fix the
problem.
| We are very sorry that some customers have experienced intermittent
delays with incoming mail to the Easynet mail system. We monitor our
network very closely and the moment we identify a delay to a customer's
email service, we investigate thoroughly, and immediately work to resolve
it.
We have a series of works planned to alleviate any short term issues,
and also have longer term work in planning to refresh the infrastructure
that we use for the mail service. We plan to migrate our customers to this
new infrastructure during Q2 of 2007. |

As Easynet provide services for many business customers these must be hoping
it's fixed sooner rather than later.

Easynet have suffered a large and embarrassing robbery, but has been trying
it's best to keep things hush hush.
On Monday two crafty crooks drove up to Easynet's HQ and used (obviously
stolen) swipe cards to get inside, then the proceeded to fill up the van with
goodies, some reports saying it was worth up to £6 million, which is a lot of
kit!
To make matters worse they were watched by two security guards, one on CCTV
and the other patrolling, but as they had swipe cards they thought they had a
good reason to be filling a van with network kit.
This is where it gets even stranger, according to
El Reg the ISP was
telling customers there was a power failure which was causing network problems,
although a power cut doesn't usually make things vanish. But it was telling El
reg that "Easynet is working closely with the police on an investigation
following an incident earlier this week." although the police have no records of
Easynet contacting them.
A letter which Easynet sent to customers is
here, but how they explain it to their insurance company should be fun to
listen to.
